Medical Production Facility Utilizes Thermaduct's InspiralR and Kingspan KoolDuct
Here at Thermaduct we are proud users of Kingspan KoolDuct, which we use in all of our pre-manufactured systems. Naturally, these systems work exceptionally well together and provide extremely low air leakage and over a 70% reduction in weight loads for both indoor and outdoor applications.
One installation that benefited from phenolic systems was this medical production facility in California. As a result of expanded operations during the ongoing pandemic, this facility needed to open up more usable space for production and needed a solution that would not require additional structural considerations and eliminate the need for seismic bracing.
A combination of our InspiralR paired with rectangular Kingspan KoolDuct allowed this installation to meet their HVAC system's R-6 insulation requirements with much lower weight loads being applied to the building.

The InspiralR provided a consistent R-6 insulated value in this application with minimal air leakage. InspiralR is UL 181 listed for 10" w.c. positive and 8" w.c. negative applications. This lightweight system can offer up to a 75% weight savings when compared to traditional double wall spiral ductwork.
